Love Note....

Hello Everyone!

Sorry for the absence I've had a family emergency that took me away.  I just found out my dearly loved most favorite Uncle has lung and lymph node cancer.  I'm sure he would appreciate prayers and good vibes sent his way...

Getting onto a happier note: my sweet and super talented friend is guest posting today!  I love her craftiness and I know you will too!!  Without further adieu here is Milli's post and if you fall in love with her project please be sure to check out her blog One Scrap Happy Momma for all her other goody projects!  oh and p.s. she sells Close To My Heart (insert big heart smile)!!!

As you know, I'm a moderate card maker - and very sporadic at that.  I decided to try my hand at some Valentine's Day cards this year.  Close To My Heart had a gorgeous paper pack called Heartstrings that I wanted to play with and I'm a sucker for word printed paper!

First, I designed the card in Cricut Design Space.  I used the Artfully Sent cartridge for most of this card.  This is one of the pop-up cards from that cartridge:

And how about that gold foil sticker?  That's left over from my Year >> Noted kit!  I still have a few of those left so don't be surprised to see them here and there.

Although you can change the colors of the layers in Design Space, it helps me to use a scrap piece of paper to designate which color in Design Space equals which paper I'm actually using.  This way I don't confuse my prints.  Of course, it didn't help so much in this case - probably because I didn't look at the color mats cutting when I fed the machine! LOL!

For the front of the card, I used my January Stamp of the Month, This Moment.  Close To My Heart is fabulous in that the Stamp of the Month is usually a month ahead of the holiday that it is useful for so that you get immediate use out of it.  In other words, November's Stamp of the Month was Christmas stamps; January's was Valentine themed.  Make sense?
So what will February's Stamp of the Month be?  A beautiful spring-themed floral set titled A Happy Hello, which could be yours with any qualifying purchase for only $5.
Isn't that a lovely stamp set?  There are some amazing projects being made already with this stamp set!  Here's a quick layout I made:

Shake It....

Hey ya'll!

I've been mia and I apologize for that.  Honestly I haven't been sure what to post.  I was chatting with my crafty friend/blog mentor Milli and we came up with a plan....
She's going to play along with me on my blog and I'm going to play along with her on her blog http://millermall.blogspot.com/2015/02/shaking-thinks-up-with-pinterest.html . How does that benefit you?  Well, you get twice the fun.  For example, for today's post, she is also creating a fun little project based on today's inspiration so when you are all done here, you can hop over to her blog, One Scrap Happy Momma, and see what wonderfully creative masterpiece she created.  Sounds like fun, huh?

Today's pick was from http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2015/01/video-no-bulk-shaker-cards.html?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=video-no-bulk-shaker-cards
Since I have a birthday coming up that needed a card I decided to go with that.  I was also feeling lazy so I didn't want to go out and buy confetti so I pulled from my stash and found things that would work and I also used my handy dandy hole puncher and punched some double sided paper.  For the holder of all the shaker goodness I used an old 7 Gypsies photo sleeve thingy and I'm not sure if they are still available but you could also use these http://milipea.ctmh.com/retail/Product.aspx?ItemID=4522&ci=967.  I just put my little ATC and my "found" shaker stuff then folded over the sleeve and sewed up one side to keep it closed.  Then using my red line adhesive I attached my little shaker to the card front.
I've already thought about other shaker projects I could do...like making fridge magnets or making some framed shakers...what ideas do you have?

Don't forget to hop over to Milli's blogat http://millermall.blogspot.com/2015/02/shaking-thinks-up-with-pinterest.html at One Scrap Happy Momma and see what she did to "shake things up".  Did we inspire you?  Let us know!  Leave a link in the comments.  We'd love to see what you created!
